Happy Birthday Polka

Some of us warmed up to some fast polkas and schottische.  It was good fun!!  

Happy 50th John

It was a Grumpier Old Man party. Ice fishing contest, fish fry, and polka dance.  Lets just say we couldn't get the old man out to the lake to fish.  We didn't get any RSVP for fishing so we thought it was safe to just hang out at the house and make coffee and see when John catches on!!  He said it was when I set out a small dish of candy in the living room that he figured something was going down!!  

Our early arrivals were Todd, Casey and Trevor and Marie and Don and Mom and Christopher.  We kept the coffee pot going and we started bringing out the food.  

By three we were a full house and having a good time.  It was so fun to have our friends and family to come and help celebrate John's special day!!

Holiday Recap

Sitting at the train station at 4:45 a.m.  anxious to pick up our German son, Simon!!  He's coming home for the Holidays.  We love having him!!  He is studying physics at Oregon State!!  

My pictures are not in order... Janis flew over from Germany to be with his brother Simon for the Holidays.  Janis and Simon cooked supper for Marilyn's birthday!!!  Schnitzle and spaetzle!!  It was so good!!  Those boys are wonderful in the kitchen!!

Our great nephew Ian!!  Oh we so loved having a little one around for the holidays.  We thought of our little boy and took wonder in a new direction!!  Christmas joys through a child is the best!!  Ian is trucking the nativity animals around!!

Oscar Lake ... having a fish fry up at the "cabin" It was a beautiful drive and a nice time with family!  John and Becky fried the fish!!

My niece Shalee and Santa!!  We got Janis to play Santa for Ian!!  Buddy the Elf helped deliver some gifts too!!  And sitting on Santa's lap to get a present is tradition!!

Yes!!  Momma got a picture with her family!!  This is NOT an easy task!!!

More music!!!  My brother  and his wife drove down for a visit with us before Christmas.  Always good to see them!!

Oh FUN!!  Here is our first annual fish fry!!   OH that's where my boys get the photo posing talents!!

Momma  Santa bought everyone a pair of SILVERS. I asked for a picture with them wearing them.  It was another painful photo op!!

Oh What Fun It Is To Ride....

It is truly a HOLIDAY around here!!  Doing winter up Minnesotan style!!  These kids are having a blast!!  Ice skating, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, shopping, and tonight hot tubbing!!!  I have so many pictures to share and stories to tell!!!   Keep checking in for fun photos!!!

What do my wondering eyes see?

I came home tonight to find my baby dressed as ELF!  Should I be worried?  In our family the fun spontaneous spirit is limited to Ole and Lena jokes!! Grant   Elf prancing in my living room was a shock!!!  We love Grant for his funning and joy he brings!!  Imagine the family photo album 25 years from now!!!

We welcome Janis for Christmas!!  He flew in from Germany to be with his brother Simon!!  It will be a wonderful Christmas for this Momma!!  

HO HO SNOW

I love the seasons we have in Minnesota!!  When it's winter time bring on the snow!!  I have a beautiful friend who knows how to have an adventure in our own back woods and we take full advantage of it!!

Simon is visiting for Christmas and we hope to take him on more of our adventures!!!
