This once Catholic Church in Schwaigern was built in the 13th century and added on in 1514 was built and kept by the Earl who had a castle/mansion next to the church. In later years [which I am unsure] the Earl gave the church to the protestants.
There is a concert tomorrow and while we were here the organist was practicing his piece!! WOW!!

Behind the church are herb gardens and a stoney pathway along the mediaval village wall. It comes out by the witch tower.
In 1484 it is first documented the "Watch house" was built with wooden frame work. {post and beam}?
This is the watch house. It is built on the village wall. The walls have carved out holes for gun or cannon or cross bow or whatever they used to protect the village. So little I can tell you but it makes for a busy imagination!! Questions? How was it? What is written? It will all be in german so I'm out of luck for now. We work hard to translate between German and English but most is up to my imagination!!
