Swedish Pannkakor

Just for fun I am going to blog about making Swedish pancakes.  While in Sweden I was gifted a jar of cloudberries!!!  I have tucked these treasured berries away until I got around to making Swedish pancakes.  Truth is I have never made Swedish pancakes!!  What's the matter with me?  So here I am going by a recipe found in my Lutheran Church cookbook.   A wonderful book full of great recipes but starts off with Lutefisk and White sauce!!  I have to turn ten pages worth of swedish recipes before I get to the pancake recipe!!  Uff da!  I mean Ish da to that Lutefisk!!
Brook has NOT been herself lately.  Clingy  and has to be right in your business.  When she put her paws on the counter I had to ask John to grab the camera!!!  I wish I could understand what she was thinking!!  She got down.  She realized she wasn't to be up checking things out!!
My brother Todd and his wife Donna gave us a pint of Muddy Foot Prints organic maple syrup!!!  DEEE   LISH!!!  John raved about the syrup and loved the pancakes!!  More like dessert then supper!!!
A few spoonfuls of cloudberries and a quick trip back to Sweden for this girls heart!!  Thank you to all the family in Sweden who made our trip so wonderful!!! Wish I was on my way for another visit!!

The Play by Play

After nap time we headed to the park.
Klayton likes to ride on Daddy's shoulder!!  "Hey!!  Some kids are coming!!"

This is great!!!  Klayton and Grandpa sitting and watching the Badgers game!!
Klayton knows  how to ham it up for the camera!!  He took a break from watching the game to look my way and give me a toothy grin!!  The next picture he is mimicking his Momma and pointing at the game and saying "First Down'!!
Still watching!!!  But soon about to get his basketball to get some sports action of his own!!  He loves to toss the ball around!!!
Klayton is running from the other side of the living room to give me a hug!!!  It was a big bear hug too!!

Klayton loved when Grandpa would give him a hoist up!!  He would grunt like he can't get up by himself and so Grandpa would assist!!
Still watching football!! and the last few pictures.... :)

Such a lovable little boy.  Not because he's ours but happy to sit in your lap to read a book and play with his stacking blocks and zoo animals or throw a ball or "knuckle" you.  And look at his smiles!!
Klayton loved John's plootin plootin kisses!!  He kept asking for more and giggling!!!

Hello Klayton!!

Went out to eat with Klayton and Jenni!!  Klayton had mac and cheese and fries!!  And we just ate up all the sweet smiles he gave us!!

Springvale Park and The Backyard

Marilyn and I hiked the trails in Springvale Park.  Beautiful!!  And of course I brought my camera!!   We are going to get in a few more of these treks before the snow flies then we are going to get out our snow shoes!!!  Really!!  We are all set for winter adventures.  I'll keep you posted!! ;)

Brenda's Log Cabin

My dear, sweet, friend Kelly and I went to check out the Log Cabin down the road from my home.  Every fishing opener and deer opener it is open to sell fun items for your log cabin or stooge.   Good old Englund Family music (Polka's and Olde   Time and some sung in Swedish too!) is playing and the fire is toasty warm.  Hot cider and homemade snicker doodles and ginger snaps to enjoy.  The temps are brisk and the snow was pelleting down.  I have an 'ol romantic heart and this cozy little place makes me think of the wonderful season we have ahead of us.  Hunker down and enjoy the season with warm fires and lots of cooking and visits with extended family and friends!  Life is a bustle of busy and often I am making a list of who to visit and to call.  Soon it might be YOU!!
